After what could be a pivotal win on Wednesday against Oxford, Ruben Selles men head to the West Midlands to take on play off chasing West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon knowing that a win could go a long way to ensuring we play Championship football again next season.
City will be without the suspended Joao Pedro after his dismissal at Bristol City last week and also Gustavo Puerta after he was sent for an early shower in the last seconds of Wednesdays game, both players we could have done with having available for such a daunting trip.
However there is a renewed optimism amongst the Tiger Nation with only one defeat in the last Seven games that being the dreadful showing at Cardiff 3 weeks ago and with Wednesdays victory getting us onto the fourty point mark we are almost there we just have to keep picking up points to make sure we get over the line.
Now The Hawthorns has never really being a happy hunting ground in recent years with the last win coming in the debut Premier League season in 2008 with a 3-0 victory against ironically Tony Mowbray’s baggies with the Middlesbrough born manager now back in charge of them, his first job back in management after a period of illness and it is a good to see he is back healthy and back on the touchline.
Selles also lost Cody Drameh to a knock in training this week and with no other long term absentees due back its getting to the stage of if your fit your playing in certain positions.
There is no doubts that we are going to have to give everything we’ve got to get a result in the second city and address the awful form of the previous trips losing the last seven games there in both the Premier League and Championship and we have only scored nine goals in those trips compared to the Albions nineteen.
After this weekend we have the two week break due to the internationals before a massive home game with relegation rivals Luton Town.
Possible Line up: Pandur, Coyle, Jones, Hughes, McLoughlin, Alzate, Slater, Kamara, Crooks, Joseph, Gelhardt
Prediction Albion 2 City 1
