Lets take a look at City's latest signings

JOSH EMMANUEL
BORN: 18 AUGUST 1997
COUNTRY: ENGLAND

Born in London, the 22-year-old started his football career in the youth academy of West Ham United before moving to Ipswich Town in 2011 to join their youth set up.

He signed a professional contract at Portman Road in August 2015 and made his competitive debut that same month. By November of that year, he had agreed to join Crawley Town on loan to gain experience.

Like many young players, Josh went out on loan to gain further match experience and develop. After Crawley, he headed north to Rotherham and it was here, he started to make some real progress.

He enjoyed a strong year whilst at Rotherham in 2017/18, playing 38 times and earning promotion through the League One play-offs. On a personal level, he was handed the club’s Young Player of the Year award. Unbelievably this did not open the door when he returned back to Ipswich. Instead he found himself back out on a season long loan, this time with Shrewsbury Town.

He was subsequently released from the Ipswich at the end of the 2018/2019 campaign and in a matter of hours had agreed a deal with Bolton. Last season saw him play 27 times in League One as Bolton were relegated to League Two.

Bolton now drop down to the 4th tier of English football having dropped out of the Premier League in 2012, and we think we are having it bad, dropping down to the 3rd tier.

It’s never good to compare a player with past players but the first thing that stands out about Emmanuel is his frame. The defender is 5’11, broad shouldered and built more like a centre-back than a full-back and he he still developing at the age of 22 (a young Harry Maguire).

One of his biggest strengths is his willingness to go on a run forward and ability to get forward (Harry Maguire).

We are also told that the defender has a trick or two in his book and can summon a quality cross when given time to do so.

He is a promising young player, who I am sure will now kick on playing for Hull City. Emmanuel signed a two-year deal, with an optional one-year extension.
