Plymouth Argyle v Hull City is previewed by Rob Black

Hull City make the long trek to Home Park looking to secure their first win of the season after last weeks opening 1-1 draw versus Bristol City and the disappointing home midweek cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

City looked like a side who hadn’t been together long as they struggled to get any rhythm in their play and found it difficult to make in roads into the opposition’s box.

Plymouth did their confidence no harm in midweek with a morale boosting cup success against Cheltenham. This was a much needed win after their opening day drubbing at Sheffield Wednesday.

Tim Walter will be hoping for a positive response after two indifferent performances but his new look side may well need a little more time to find their Championship legs.

It’s never an easy task down at Plymouth as we know and Argyle will be buoyed by their midweek cup efforts, especially after a clean sheet also.

City’s squad has been boosted with the recent signings of Charlie Hughes, Mason Burstow, Finley Burns and Oscar Zambrano, and Tim Walter may resist the temptation to throw all three into the Championship fray but they should play some part in the game from the bench at least.

Plymouth will again look to Morgan Whittaker, last season’s top scorer, to provide the spark up front and I am expecting a tough afternoon for Tim’s Tigers but City are well equipped to come away with something so I m going to predict a hard earned 1-1 draw and a point a piece with Liam Millar on target.
