Hull City AFC vs Sheffield Tuesday 26 November KO 19.45

The Good...The Bad...The Ugly...Last Chance Saloon....

The Good
We are averaging circa 20,000 at home, which is incredible.
For those who think this is normal, take a look at our attendances since the 70’s.
Credit to those at the club, for creating such an attractive environment for supporters of all ages.
The away support has been equally as good, at a time when money is tight.

The Bad
We have had little to cheer at the MKM with just 3 wins in 2024, which includes Liam Roseniors reign.
16 games gone and just 15 points acquired.
3rd from bottom and with no win in 8.
We’ve only won 1 in 8 at home.

Despite the promise of heart attack football we are only averaging 1 goal per game and conceding 1.28 goals per game.
Performance wise, we have played well in patches and we have created chances to win games.

The Ugly
So, when the head coach heads straight down the tunnel after another defeat that’s poor.
What is unacceptable is to say that you were wet!
Clearly you are Tim, if you think that is an excuse.
Win, lose or draw, a leader should head over and applaud the travelling support.

Tim’s win ratio so far is just 17.65% compared to an average of more than 50% in Germany.

Last Chance Saloon
One lifelong, esteemed fan and author wrote after the Luton game “a silly miss and a couple of ‘shoot don’t pass!’ chances and we’d have won it 3-1. But, many have already built their scaffolds and don’t wish to see the wood go to waste.”

However, as Angel Eyes, Lee Van Cleef said, “people with ropes around their necks, don’t always hang”.

Shootout
Tonight’s duel, against our local rivals Sheffield Wednesday is now a must win game.

They lie 4 points ahead of us, simply by taking their chances and converting two of our draws into wins.
Such fine margins. They did beat Norwich 2nil, who are arguably, the best side we’ve faced this season.

Wednesday dominated against struggling Cardiff at the weekend, drawing 1v1.

City will be low on confidence but we have to take our chances and in the words of Tuco, “when you have to shoot, shoot”.

Prediction
It really is do or die.
An early goal for The Tigers will get the fans behind them to see them home narrowly.
