The OSC were pleased to be invited to the launch of the 2019/20 season highlights show.

If like me you watched the first few shows a couple of seasons ago, you may have forgotten about this highlights show.

When the invite came, I decided to have a fresh look at the offering from Quest and so taking a day off, I travelled to The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic to attend the launch with supporters from loads of other supporters from EFL clubs.

Quite a few of the fans in attendance are just that bit more than the average supporter. They had blog's, You Tube channels and ran forums. Media savvy and technically far more advanced than me maybe. In the end they are simply passionate supporters who have found an outlet for their creative talents. Did I feel out of place? Not one bit, after all, they are, supporters from our opponents, pleasantries sufficed.

The EFL trophies were on display along with a bloke with white gloves on, who's job as far as I could see was to stop sticky fingers from leaving prints on the cups.

News from the EFL that they will have 4 cameras at all of the Championship games and that the campaign to support Mind will continue got the launch off to a good start. The OSC are pleased to have Hull and East Yorkshire Mind as one of our charities, so this was welcome news.

Screwfix are sponsoring the EFL on Quest show and they announced a free ticket promotion, more information will be forthcoming.

It was then the turn of the panel, led by presenters Colin Murray and Ian Holloway with their guests Karen Carney and Chris Powell.

I loved the humour and banter from the panel, if the show is half as entertaining as today, then it will have a definite place on my Saturday and if I miss it, the Sunday repeat. Great and genuine interaction from Colin and Ian. Colin's knowledge of the EFL combined with Ian's sometimes bizarre take on things, make for a great pairing.

Time for photos and a slice of pizza and my day in London was coming to a close.

The new season is just around the corner and I can't wait. The show promises time to look at every EFL game and I for one will be watching.

EFL on Quest is free to view on Saturday's at 9pm on Freeview 12 Freesat 167 SKY 144 and Virgin 217
